If you have worked outside Finland, too, you may be entitled to pension from abroad. Each country grants pension based on its legislation. For further information on working and pensions abroad, you can also contact the Finnish Centre for Pensions (ETK).
If you have previously lived and/or worked in another EU country, EEA country, Switzerland or in social security agreement country, you can apply for the pension accrued there using the same form as the one with which you apply for disability pension from Finland. You must attach an additional form with details on working and living abroad called appendix U (pdf).
You should also attach any other documents relating to working and living abroad, such as employment records, as this will make the handling of your pension matters in foreign pension institutions easier.
We will forward your application and the attachments to the Finnish Centre for Pensions, which in turn will forward the application to all the EU states, EEA countries, Switzerland, or social security agreement countries, where you have worked or lived.
For further information on applying for pension from a country that is not an EU or EEA country, Switzerland of social security agreement country, please contact the Finnish Centre for Pensions.
