What should I do now that Varma rejected my application?

Think about your options, look into what opportunities are available and consider your income matters after Varma rejects your application.

After a rejected application

Register as an unemployed jobseeker with the TE Office to secure your income if your right to sickness allowance has ended and your application for disability pension has been rejected. You can register as an unemployed jobseeker even if your employment relationship is still in force and you are still on sick leave. Remember to register on time, as your period as a jobseeker is not valid retroactively. After you register, you can apply for earnings-based daily allowance from your unemployment fund or unemployment security from Kela.

You can contact Kela to find out your right to social assistance.

You have the right to appeal the negative disability pension decision. Your decision will be accompanied by instructions for appeal, informing you of how you can appeal the decision you received.

When your application for vocational rehabilitation has been rejected and your employment relationship is in force, discuss your return to work with your supervisor, the person responsible for HR matters and your occupational health care physician.

If you do not have a valid employment relationship or your employer cannot offer you work suited to your state of health, you can look into options for continuing in working life and your right to unemployment benefit from the TE Office.

You can contact Kela to find out your right to social assistance.

If you have received a recommendation to apply for medical rehabilitation, contact Kela.
