When do you need YEL insurance?

You must take out YEL insurance if:

  • you are an entrepreneur and 18–67 years old
  • your entrepreneurial activities continue for a minimum of four months
  • your estimated confirmed income is more than EUR 8 063,57  per year (2021)

YEL insurance must be taken out within six months from the beginning of the operations subject to YEL.

  • YEL insurance is statutory pension insurance that you as an entrepreneur must take out almost without exception
  • If you are a new entrepreneur, we give you a discount of 22% on your YEL contributions for the first four years
  • The entrepreneur’s pension insurance contribution is fully tax deductible in your personal or corporate taxation

YEL contributions and confirmed income
