Working while on an old-age pension

You can work while receiving an old-age pension without your earnings affecting the amount of your current old-age pension. There are no earnings limits.

Work carried out while receiving an old-age pension accrues you new pension at 1.5% of your annual earnings until the age of 68. Pension accrues from self-employment only if you take out YEL insurance.

You can start collecting your accrued pension at the age of 68 by applying for old-age pension (upper age limit for those born before 1958).
