The TyEL insurance contribution interest rate is determined by the market rate of 2 May. Since 2 May did not fall on a banking day this year, the rate of the preceding banking day was used as the basis for the interest rate. The next time the TyEL and YEL insurance contribution interest rates will be adjusted is on 1 January 2027.
When is interest not charged on insurance contributions?
Insurance contribution interest is not added to TyEL insurance contributions falling due by the end of the month following the month in which salaries are paid.
If you have arranged an extended payment term with interest, we will include the insurance contribution interest in the payment from the end of the month following the salary payment month until the contribution’s due date. The TyEL insurance contribution always falls due at the latest at the end of the second month after the month in which salary is paid.
What is the insurance contribution interest rate based on?
The insurance contribution interest rate is based on the 12-month TyEL benchmark rate quoted daily by Garantia. However, the interest rate is always at least 2 per cent. The benchmark rate is based on Euribor rates and the returns on eurozone countries’ benchmark bonds.
