The Node is being built next to the Mall of Tripla and Pasila railway station and is scheduled for completion in spring 2028. The 32-storey, 130-metre building will be Finland’s tallest office building and the first tower completed in the Central Pasila tower district.
– The Node is a unique project for Varma due to its height, distinctive design and the high standards set for the office environment. We are delighted to welcome St1 as a tenant. Signing a long-term lease at this stage allows us to work with St1 to design premises that meet the company’s needs, says Toni Pekonen, Commercial Property Director at Varma.
St1 will occupy floors 25–27 of The Node, comprising approximately 3,600 square metres of space.
– We want to create premises that support collaboration, interaction and different ways of working, while making everyday work as smooth as possible for our employees. It is particularly important that our people can contribute to the design of the new premises from the very beginning. The Node gives us the opportunity to create modern, inspiring spaces that support St1’s operations and our employees’ daily work, both now and in the future. We also value having a stable landlord with whom we have had an open and constructive dialogue from the outset, says Tom Rinne, Head of HR at St1.
The Node combines a wide range of services with views towards the sea
Designed by JKMM Architects, the tower will offer modern office space to support different ways of working. It will also feature high-quality café and restaurant services and a wellbeing centre for tenants, including a sauna and group exercise facilities. The food and beverage offering is being designed to include a wide range of lunch options, takeaway meals and services outside standard office hours.
The Node will offer views south towards Helsinki city centre and the sea. Floor-to-ceiling windows will bring abundant natural light into the premises.
“The Node is now just a year and a half away from completion. The building is already visible from many parts of Helsinki and has become a distinctive Pasila landmark,” Pekonen says.
Office space is still available at The Node
Elisa, The Node’s anchor tenant, signed its lease before construction began. As construction has progressed, a growing number of companies looking for office space have shown interest in The Node. This is an excellent time to begin discussions, while prospective tenants still have a good opportunity to choose their location in the building and help shape the design and fit-out of their premises.
“Prospective tenants can now see The Node’s spaces and views for themselves. Feedback has been extremely positive from customers who have visited the floors under construction and seen the environment The Node will offer,” Pekonen says.
The building has been designed with Varma’s environmental targets in mind, and the project is seeking a BREEAM Excellent environmental rating.
The Node is located at Pasila’s major transport hub
Construction of the building’s structural frame has now reached a height of approximately 120 metres. Concrete floor slabs are being constructed at the 29th-floor level. The lower podium section connected to Pasilansilta reached its full height of 14 storeys during the autumn.
The name The Node refers to Pasila station’s role as a national transport hub. The property is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle and car from across the Helsinki metropolitan area.
